چکیده
This paper focuses on step length estimation using inertial measurement sensors. Accurate has a number of useful health applications, including its use in characterizing the postural instability Parkinson’s disease patients. Three different sensor configurations are studied sensors shank and/or thigh human subject. The problem several challenges due to unknown bias, misalignment body and desire minimum A nonlinear is formulated that aims estimate angle, bias parameters lengths. observer designed Lyapunov analysis requires solving an LMI find stabilizing gain. It turns out global stability over entire operating region can only be obtained by switched gains, one gain for each piecewise monotonic output function. Experimental results presented performance compared with gold standard reference measurements from infrared camera capture system. An innovative technique utilizes three shown provide accuracy nearly equal four-sensor configuration.

Step Length Estimation Using Handheld Inertial Sensors
In this paper a novel step length model using a handheld Micro Electrical Mechanical System (MEMS) is presented. It combines the user's step frequency and height with a set of three parameters for estimating step length. The model has been developed and trained using 12 different subjects: six men and six women. For reliable estimation of the step frequency with a handheld device, the frequency...
متن کاملA Robust Nonlinear Observer for Real-Time Attitude Estimation Using Low-Cost MEMS Inertial Sensors
This paper deals with the attitude estimation of a rigid body equipped with angular velocity sensors and reference vector sensors. A quaternion-based nonlinear observer is proposed in order to fuse all information sources and to obtain an accurate estimation of the attitude. It is shown that the observer error dynamics can be separated into two passive subsystems connected in "feedback". Then, ...
متن کاملSensorless Speed Control of Switched Reluctance Motor Drive Using the Binary Observer with Online Flux-Linkage Estimation
An adaptive online flux-linkage estimation method for the sensorless control of switched reluctance motor (SRM) drive is presented in this paper. Sensorless operation is achieved through a binary observer based algorithm. In order to avoid using the look up tables of motor characteristics, which makes the system, depends on motor parameters, an adaptive identification algorithm is used to estim...
متن کاملOne-Step Two-Factor Authentication with Wearable Bio-Sensors
Two-step verification does not imply two-factor authentication. Conversely, two-factor authentication may not require two-step verification. With ubiquitous bio-sensors, we can strive for one-step two-factor authentication for wearable computing applications.
متن کاملStep-Up Switching-Mode Converter With High Voltage Gain Using a Switched-Capacitor Circuit
A new circuit is proposed for a steep step-up of the line voltage. It integrates a switched-capacitor (SC) circuit within a boost converter. An SC circuit can achieve any voltage ratio, allowing for a boost of the input voltage to high values. It is unregulated to allow for a very high efficiency. The boost stage has a regulation purpose. It can operate at a relatively low duty cycle, thus avoi...
